Local Green AuthorsSt. Margaret's Day School cherishes our special visits with local authors Elaine Allen and Jennifer Curtis. Both of these wonderful woman are environmental advocates. They write books that focus on environmental restoration and animals that are endangered.

Department of Natural ResourcesBob Baltz of the Maryland DNR has worked closely with St. Margaret's Day School since 2008. In addition to facilitating the school's past horseshoe crab program, he also conducts a Maryland Bird Presentation for all age students each year and is now facilitating our bluegill fish program.

Beneficial insect releasesEach spring, our students raise and release praying mantises, ladybugs, and painted lady butterflies. They provide a fascinating subject focus for the students and provide a beneficial service to our surrounding natural habitats that we are working hard to preserve.

Awards and Special RecognitionIn 2015 our campus received LEED Silver Certification for School Building. Through the effects of the Church and school community, we have worked very hard to earn this certification.
