NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation--
​the mark of quality for early childhood education programs nationwide.

For over 25 years, NAEYC Accreditation has been recognized as a trusted indicator of excellence. Today, only about 8% of all early childhood programs in the United States—nearly 7,000 schools—hold this distinction.

Achieving accreditation demonstrates our commitment to meeting the highest professional standards in early education. NAEYC Accreditation assures families that our teachers create engaging classrooms, foster strong relationships with parents, and design rich, developmentally appropriate experiences for young learners.

The Accreditation Process Earning NAEYC Accreditation is a rigorous and meaningful journey.

SMDS completed an extensive self-study, evaluating our practices against NAEYC’s ten Early Childhood Program Standards and over 400 related criteria.

Afterward, NAEYC assessors conducted an on-site visit to verify that our program meets these high standards.

​Accredited programs remain subject to unannounced visits and must renew accreditation every five years to maintain their status.
