General Information for Campers

Hours: (SMDS will be closed on July 3)
Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for all 4-6 year old campers.

*3 year old campers are M/W/F, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Parking:
Parking is available in the side lot of St Margaret's with overflow parking near the church. Please adhere to the following:
  • Drive slowly when approaching and entering the campus
  • Be alert to the many children of all ages who may be walking near your vehicle.
  • Do not leave cars unattended with motor running anywhere on campus.
  • Be aware of traffic patterns and signage around campus. There is only one entrance and exit to our parking lot.

Drop Off:
On the first day of camp each week, park and check in at the welcome area outside in front of the playground. Our camp director will help you find your child's classroom.

Camp days begin at 9:00 am. Drop off begins at 8:40 am. Parents and guardians must walk their campers to their room's back door. Our buildings are locked after the drop off period, so please arrive on time.

 Pick Up:
Campers should be picked up at 3:00 pm by their parents or approved guardians at the classroom back doors near the playground. Counselors will only release campers to adults on the emergency form. If you need to add to your campers pick up list, please contact the camp director at [email protected].

Communication:
SMDS believes in mutual daily, weekly and monthly communication between parents, staff and administration. We use an app called Kaymbu for photos, communication and newsletters. In case of emergencies like severe weather, email alerts will be sent through the app.

Lunch, Snacks and Water:
  • SMDS is a nut free campus and all food containing nuts are prohibited.
  • Carefully check the labels of the items you send for lunch and snacks.
  • Campers must bring a refillable water bottle. Water refill stations are available.
  • Morning snacks are provided for all campers. Lunches are refrigerated for all campers. We suggest a bento style lunchbox.

What to Wear & Bring:
**Please label everything your camper brings to camp to avoid confusion and loss of belongings.**

Campers should bring or wear the following every day:
  1. Backpack for belongings
  2. Labeled sunscreen - all campers can leave their sunscreen in their bags for the week. Please apply before camp each morning. If your child stays a full day, counselors will help reapply sunscreen after lunch.
  3. Labeled refillable water bottle
  4. Nut free lunch
  5. Athletic shoes (flip flors or open backed shoes are not allowed)

Please do not send extras like toys, stuffed animals or smart watches with your campers. If your camper brings a smart watch, it must remain in their backpack.

Special Events:
We end each week with a special event, whether that be a visit from Kona Ice, Eco Adventures or an in house special treat.
